The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared this week that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. This character has the ability to transform into an perfect replica of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the original manga and anime.
Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to life, such as head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
